Wildfox // Fishtail Braid Bun
I think every woman can agree that God's gift to the fashion industry is overalls. A simple statement outfit for your wardrobe. Wildfox has made this magical pair which I know were created for me to wear to as a swim cover-up to the beach. The linen material and elegant tie-back bow make the perfect duo for lounge wear or to pair with your favorite heels for a girls night out. I accessorized the overalls with an elegant Vanessa Mooney necklace for a simple yet statement look. You'll notice on several sites her statement tassel pieces are becoming quite popular. As I previously mentioned in a post, I love her mix of metals and stones.
My love for braiding started out as a way for me to prolong the life of my hair color. Also, it was a way to wear my hair on a "dirty" day. It's the perfect accessory or way to create movement when you feel like your hair has lost it's volume after not washing. This style looks a lot harder to recreate than it actually is. I started with a deep side part and tied the section with a hair tie. You can use any kind of braid but I chose to use a fishtail since I have fine hair it's easier to create movement and texture with a fishtail braid. I braided the length that was tied up and sprinkled my Unite Expanda Dust hair product as I gently pulled apart the braid. Expanda Dust is a great product I use in almost all my braids to create movement and texture. After pulling it apart to create more texture, I twisted it around the base of the section in a circle. This is where my trusty CA Makes hair pin came into place. I used the pin to secure the section and TA-DAH all done! CA Makes is a company based out of Santa Barbara that uses precious metals to hand make hair accessories! I was so fortunate to find them on Instagram and use their pins in this series! The Equinox pin is 4.5" and half bright brass and half aged brass! I can't wait to use these in my day to day hair styles!
