When I moved to LA I thought I'd be pursuing modeling full time. It's all I had dreamt of doing for years and hair had been on the back-burner for quite some time. I was signed immediately with an agency and was very fortunate for that. But stepping out of my comfort zone and into another realm of hair made me realize just how much I love what I had put on the back-burner. I fell passionately back in love with doing hair and hit the ground running. I don't think I've ever verbalized that transition on the internet for all to see before. The reason why I am is because when I do step back in front of the camera with my closest friends being the photographers is, it takes about 3 frames to GET BACK TO IT! The photographer for this shoot, Colleen and I had a conversation the morning of this shoot saying "oh man our model canceled should we cancel the shoot?" and I slowly processed it and said "no, I want to do it". It was well worth it, I love these shots of Ellemer Swimwear!
Ellemer Swimwear calls themselves an "Ocean Minded Business". After reading several different articles available on their site I would agree! Ellemer is a brand specializing in technical and minimal style bikinis in their home state Hawaii. The material used for their brand is "Made to Last" and considered conscious swimwear. In a world full of cheap, trendy material they have built their suits well and it shows! I'm wearing the Waikiki rash guard suit which I initially chose because of the long sleeves. Something I always have caution about it is mesh material and when I tried the top on I was pleasantly surprised by how well crafted it was. Mesh is a tricky material because it can become stretched out easily and often times seems cheap. Ellemer's swimsuit did neither of these things, in fact it kept me warm on my long walk back to my car after dipping in the California Coast water in October.
