Ruckus Apparel // French Crown Braid
Ruckus Apparel have been friends of mine since the day they started. The owner of Ruckus, Josh and myself became friends through the music scene in Denver, Colorado. Our relationship has naturally evolved as has their prominent monopoly on the Denver fashion scene. The first photoshoot I did for Ruckus I remember Josh telling me "just bring your hair stuff" not really knowing what I was getting myself in to. Low and behold 6+ years later I still love and cherish the brand and the family they have thus become to me.
Nora, the model, is an elegant long-limbed lady who I first met last winter at a fashion show I was helping Ruckus produce in Denver. She was the first model there and I immediately was drawn to her and her cute septum ring. It seemed only fitting that she wore a suit for Ruckus being from the same home town as I. Nora moved out to Los Angeles a couple months ago and I had the wonderful privilege of working with her before she leaves to slay the modeling industry in Shanghai.
With this look Nora's hair was perfect, not too thick and not layered helping me create just about any braid I wanted. It's funny I didn't really have much of a plan as to how I wanted to braid her hair I just figured I'd pick it up and start doing something. Which is precisely what I did. French crown braids are a fairly easy braid for me to do. Watching her and the photographer Mandee connect and shoot was a beautiful sight to behold at sunset on the beach.
